Global Environment Forum-KANSAI was established in 1990 to enable scholars, people belonging to cultural professions, consumer groups, labor unions, local authorities and people from financial world to go beyond their areas of expertise to join hands in addressing environmental issues and consider guidelines for action plans. These experts from diverse fields have, over the years, candidly discussed problems relating to the environment and haven been successful in their varied and multifaceted activities.
The Forum seeks to deepen the relationship between the academic, governmental and economic circles, conduct studies on environmental issues and suggest action plans, promote hands-on activities to eliminate environmental problems, as well as educate the public while disseminating information regarding the issues. These efforts are focused on the creation of a Metabolism-oriented Society for the 21st century and the furtherance of the various activities from a long-term perspective.
